Sport Recognition
Becoming a member of the UK Paintball Sports Federation (UKPSF) is more important than ever, as the federation is actively pushing for paintball to gain official “Sport Recognition” in the UK. Achieving this recognition would be a game-changer for the entire paintball community, bringing immense benefits to both businesses and players.
If paintball is officially classified as a sport, it opens the door for significant opportunities. Paintball could be considered for major global events such as the Olympics, Invictus games , commonwealth games etc, which would elevate the sport’s profile and attract a larger audience. For businesses, this recognition means greater visibility, increased participation, and the potential to attract more serious players and investment in the sport. Additionally, “Sport Recognition” could lead to tax breaks on sporting equipment, reducing the overall costs for both venues and players, making paintball a more affordable and accessible activity.
However, to apply for sport recognition, the UK Sport Council has specified that the UKPSF must demonstrate it has 1,800 active members. By becoming a UKPSF member, you’re not only supporting your local venue but also helping the entire paintball community achieve this milestone. This recognition would pave the way for long-term growth, more competitive opportunities, and a stronger, more respected paintball industry.
In short, becoming a UKPSF member is a crucial step in helping paintball reach its full potential as an officially recognised sport. For businesses, it’s an opportunity to be part of something bigger, gaining credibility and attracting more players. For players, it means a more affordable, professional, and widely acknowledged sport. Everyone benefits when paintball gains the recognition it deserves.
