UKPSF Review
Paintball Scheduling Promoters edition v3.7
34 teams, four fields, amateur, novice, pro’s four divisions—What format and how do I do the rota’s? One hour to go and a team has “cried off” help!!!
Like all tournament organisers I spend hours sorting out rotas and divisions and then another team books in or one cries off. I also spend a lot of time trying to ensure teams don’t have back to back games and byes are spread between the fields. Sorting out playing schedules is time consuming. Well, no more, with the help of a computer program devised by Jim Qualizza tournament schedules can be created in minutes.
The format is simple, you input the team names in the divisions, enter the number of rounds to play, enter the field names, enter the turn round time and if a lunch break is planned and at the press of a button the rotas are done. It is so simple. Field schedules, individual team schedules and overall schedules can be created. No more looking for your letter on a rota—it prints your team name. This is an exceptional program and a must for any serious event organiser.
Demo copies of the programme are available. You can either contact the UKPSF and I will arrange for Jim to send you a demo copy or contact Jim direct.

Without a doubt the “Paintball Field Operators Guide” is the most comprehensive book I have ever seen covering paintball site operation The guide covers everything from setting up a paintball site, equipment and supplies, field preparation, operating procedures, players and the game, safety, tournaments, promotional material, business ideas to the day’s end in it’s 450 pages.
The guide also includes a computer disc of essential information. Whilst the guide is an American publication the articles in the book are relevant to the operation of a paintball venue anywhere in the World.
The guide was first published in 1986 and has been regularly updated by the author Guy D Cooper. Excluding UK law and HSE requirements (which are in the UKPSF Code of Practice) I don’t think there is a subject related to site management that is not covered in this book. The book is essential reading for all paintball site operators.
